You might be wondering what LifeHouse is really all about. Well, I’m glad you asked! The vision of LifeHouse is to be a casual, come-as-you-are, life-giving church that addresses contemporary life issues from a modern angle. Is LifeHouse a “watered-down” version of the church and Christianity? Hardly. The same Jesus is preached from the same Bible that contains the same unchanging truth. Here’s what I mean…
I have a good friend in ministry who often uses this saying: “Same Gospel, different package.” In essence, that’s what LifeHouse is all about. We live in an ever-changing culture and, while the Bible speaks to life issues regardless of the day and age, the methods for communicating these unchanging truths must change if the church is to have the effect on society that it was always intended to have. To that end, we will implement modern worship music, engage the visual senses through integrated multimedia, and be intent on setting an atmosphere that is informal.
At LifeHouse, we also realize that many people are intimidated by the prospect of attending a worship service. There are many who think that church is only for those who “have it all together.” Well, let me tell you something. If that’s the requirement for attending a church service, then I could never go! At LifeHouse, we're not about "having it all together" or acting like we do. Instead, we want to create an atmosphere in which we can grow together toward a God who really understands; then the pieces of this often bizarre world will start to make sense!
